How many times have you googled for a review of such and such a product and ended up at a poorly written website that is just a copy, at best, of the sales literature and an affiliate link to Amazon.com? It is obvious that the "reviewer" has had no hands-on experience with the product. I run into this a lot and I'm getting really tired of it so I thought I'd do my own totally unbiased reviews here with tools and products that I have had the time to really work with and evaluate. Hopefully this will save you all alot of time, money and trouble.

I'll be reviewing some things new and some things old. I'm especially interested in tools that are well made, owner-repairable and have parts available. Coming up reviews include splitting axes and chainsaws. I'm hoping to review some log splitters as well. I'm especially interested in the new Boss Industrial line of wood splitters. They include 5 ton, 7 ton, 8 ton and 10 ton electric splitters and seem to be very well made.

My wife and I brought in 5 mixed cords of black oak and live oak over the last few weeks. With luck, we should have a couple of these splitters here and put them to the test for you on the green oak we just brought in and some of our more seasoned oak, fir, cedar, cottonwood and eucalyptus in real everyday working conditions.
